General Music

Students begin taking part in regularly scheduled music classes in Kindergarten. A major feature of our elementary and middle school general music program is the extensive use of the Orff method. The Orff Method of teaching incorporates singing, playing, dancing and creating to teach major musical concepts. Our teachers are not only well trained in this method, but have assumed significant roles in the National Orff Program. They have served as instructors at several Orff Conferences, including those with the Greater Rochester American Orff-Schulwerk Association.  Students continue to have the opportunity to take general music classes through eighth grade.
