Get wildly creative! With "Creative Adventures" you get to choose four hour-long sessions that you’ll attend each day for the duration of camp. A final performance recital and art show will showcase your final work. Choose from creative art, dance, vocal music and theatre workshops to active outdoor sports and games! With so many choices, you’ll have no trouble filling your summer mornings with awesome creative adventures!

Creative Adventures Workshops
You’ll take part in four (4) Creative Adventures workshops. We've added lots of new activities in 2010, so you'll find all kinds of creativity to choose from!
Workshop Number
1 • Arts & Crafts Grades 4-8
If you love every kind of art but can't fit it in your schedule, then this class is for you! Work in a variety of media such as clay, pastels, colored pencil and much more. New projects this year!
2 • Fabulous Fountains! Grades 4-8
Create an awesome tabletop water fountain & garden using a real miniature water pump along with clay construction and glazing.
3 • Colored Pencil & Watercolor Grades 4-8
Draw in colored pencil and learn more about water colors, landscapes, batiks, florals and mixed medium with water color.
4 • Freaky Duds Grades 6-8
Want to make just the perfect costume that would be the envy of the ball? Learn how to design and build your own awesome costumes for yourself as well as build amazing outfits for our afternoon musical.
5 • Learn to Knit Grades 4-8
Not your grandmother's hobby anymore. Knitting is the new rage with all the funky fibers now available. Here is an opportunity to learn to make something that is uniquely yours. Create a case for your iPod or cell phone. Design your own yarn party scarf to match your jacket. The possibilities are limitless. It’s a skill sure to last a lifetime. 6 • Digital Photography Grades 7-8
Have you ever wondered how to use Adobe Photoshop? Do you like taking digital photos? Come join the Digital Photography 7th and 8th grade class and see what you can create!
7 • Modern & Contemporary Painting Grades 7-8
Have you ever wanted to learn how to paint like a Modern artist? This course will immerse participants into Modern and Contemporary painting techniques, exploring painting on canvas, board, and several unconventional surfaces. Campers will become more expressionistic, and truly feel as if they are working in "the artist's studio."
8 • Ceramics Grades 4-6
Experience the wonderful world of clay! Use your imagination and creativity while exploring a variety of hand building techniques. Campers will create sculptural pieces, using many different themes as inspiration.
9 • Ceramics Grades 7-8
Join us in the excitement of building and creating with clay. Using the various hand building techniques and potterís wheel, campers will create sculptural and functional forms.
10 • NEW! Native American Art Grades 4-8
Inuit masks, Plains story cloths, Hopi Kachinas, Acoma clay pots, Navajo weavings are just some of the amazing projects we will make during this class.
11 • NEW! Art Around the World Grades 4-8
Tour of the art of many countries. We will "travel" to Egypt, Mexico, Japan, Africa, Australia and you can suggest other places to visit. We will make sculptures, paintings, carvings and more!
12 • Bead Bonanza Grades 4-8
Personalize jewelry by creating colorful beads. Campers will become familiar with how beads are used in various cultures around the world. Using a variety of different materials including paper and paper mache, participants will develop favorite color schemes and unique designs to create wearable pieces of art.
13 • “Funk”tional Furniture Grades 4-8
Take an ordinary piece of furniture, and transform it into a work of art! A chair becomes a jungle animal, a desk; the universe! Patterns and pictures painted with latex paint make a small wooden box your treasure chest. Emphasis on pattern, color and fun!
14 • NEW! Novel-Ty Movies Grades 4-8
Is the book really better than the movie? From novel to movie, this class is all about comparing books on the silver screen! We will watch these visual story wonders and see if they meet our expectations. 15 • NEW! Monster Movie Madness Grades 6-8
Vampires, werewolves, and Frankenstein, OH MY!! In this class, we will explore the monster movie genre. We will be watching the classics and more. There will be mummy races and marshmallow monster creations!
16 • NEW! Blizzard in July! Grades 4-8
Been dog sledding in the Alaskan wilderness? Lost at the top of the world? This class is all about exploring movies that take place in the snow. We will even have a “snowball” fight in July! Come and “chill out!”
17 • NEW! Pet Rocks and Painted Pots! Grades 4-8
Want a pet but without the mess? Consider this class, where we will be painting pet rocks and creating habitats for them to live in. We will paint flower pot people and other related crafts.
18 • Hip Hop Class Grades 4-8
Hip-hop class will consist of fun pop and lock moves. Create your own style to show everyone!
19 • So You Think You Can Jazz Dance? Grades 4-8
Have you ever wanted to show off your talents of dancing? Well, now is the time! Plan on beginning the camp with a talent showcase of your own style of dance. All styles are welcome! Classes will consist of a daily warm-up, across the room combinations, fun and unique center floor combinations and weekly performances to show off your talents. Come, learn and perfect your dance moves and be prepared to show them off in the end of camp showcase! *Jazz shoes or jazz sneakers are required for this class.
20 • Choreography Class Grades 4-8
Choreography class will consist of creative, "made-up" dance moves made by you! Students will learn stage directions, levels and ways to dual choreograph. Campers will work together to create their own unique dance! 21 • “Glee”-Club Grades 4-8
This class emphasizes the art of singing through healthy vocal technique! Campers will learn how to reach their personal singing potential through solo and group performance. 22 • You’re the Star! Grades 4-8
In this class we will discuss different types of theatre and eventually perform our own rendition of a dramatic classic, chosen by the students! Our days will be full of various activities, from movement exercises, theatre games, learning lines, and producing our own scenes to perform at the end-of-camp recital. 23 • Broadway Bound Grades 4-8
Get set to learn the ins-and-outs of a performerís life! Learn how to prepare for auditions, develop and keep good performance habits, rehearse for shows, and finally enjoy the art of performing! Campers will leave this class with a resumé, headshot and a great understanding of everything that goes into putting on a show!
24 • Outdoor Sports & Games Grades 4-8
This outdoor sports and recreation session will offer a variety of lifetime sport and game activities including soccer, tennis, golf, lacrosse, basketball, softball and other related fitness activities. Weather will determine the location of each day's events. The emphasis of this program will focus on interactive fitness and FUN!
